Indiana Junior Chamber of Commerce Fact Sheet

Name:
Indiana Junior Chamber of Commerce (Indiana Jaycees)
Scope:
Leadership training, community service, and personal development for men and women.
Purpose:
A 501 C-3 not for profit corporation, organized for educational and charitable purposes to promote and foster the growth and development of the young people of Indiana and to serve the community by providing assistance where needed.
History:
The United States Junior Chamber of Commerce was officially organized on January 21, 1920 in St. Louis, Missouri by twenty chapters. Harry Giessenbier, the founder, was elected the first National President. The Indiana Junior Chamber affiliated with the National Organization in 1921 when the Marion Jaycees were chartered.
Headquarters:
The Indiana Junior Chamber of Commerce Service Center is located in Carmel and provides services to all local chapters.
